Quick note

I would like to thank you all for your support and emails I got from you. It’s really great to see that the market is full of good recruiters trying to build the relationship with candidates and do honest work!

I would like to answer few questions, but first of all I am really surprised about the impact that this small article already did.

“The universe is big. It’s vast and complicated and ridiculous. And sometimes, very rarely, impossible things just happen and we call them miracles.” So thanks for your sharing and for this small miracle.

I really appreciate this!

Q&A

@PetrK (from email)
Why I wrote this?
- I would like to bring the ethics and trust back, that’s all. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. So I am trying to do something.

@KLepo
“some agencies are faking not only recruiters, but also IT specialists.”
- Yes you are right, the reason is simple, and you are not going to accept the invitation from agency recruiter. But there is high possibility that you accept the invite from another developer. Well I don’t want to mentioned CoolPople again, but they are also doing that. I saw few their profiles from Teradata, RadHat, Microsoft etc. And I already get the information about other agencies, creating these fake profiles.

@David Vochoc

“CoolPeople don´t offer real positions.”
- You are absolutely right! But other agencies are also creating these fake jobs. I will try to write article about this soon.

@Zuzana Pilzova:
“anonymous source a trustful one?”
- Absolutely not! Don’t trust anybody and always double check the information. We are living in the times that we are just passively accepting information adn we belive them, so I encourage you, double check everything and question everything.

“It's a shame you don't have the guts to sign yourself. “
- I thought about that and I am not doing for fame or just to show everybody how good I am, I am just a normal guy. Well maybe this could impress some woman :D But that’s not the goal ;)

- The reason why I am not going to tell you my name or give you my LinkedIn profile (of course the real one). is that I just don’t want disclose my identity. If everybody knows me, they can threat to sue me etc. also be "anonymous" is great because you can tell the truth. So I am going to stay “hidden” and tell the truth about the things are going on the market. And I am and always will be the optimist. The hoper of far-flung hopes and the dreamer of improbable dreams.

@ Brano Goga

@Skutik
The companies involved (Google, Skype, Amazon...) should be informed of this. I belive this is nothing they lawyers couldn't solve in very very short time ;)
- Well they already knew about this, but they (CoolPeople) are going to deny everything, so it’s not easy to solve this.

@ Kisha Chismar
Thanks for the info. This is great that you informed the world about a practice that many don't know about.
- Thank you! I just hope that people are going to stop creating fake profiles and we are going to see less “Talent Managers” and see more real people :)

And I also get few links from you:

  1. You can use "Block or report" functionality for such users. If there is enough users reporting these profiles, LinkedIn is going to take care.

  2. That’s true, but you can get more than 1500 connections within week. And after the week the fake profile is removed by Linkedin.
